Immunity: Your Own Superhero Power

Everyone wants to be a superhero.

I bet you did too, at some point.

But what most of us take for granted are the things that are already bestowed upon us – like our own immunity.

You have an immune system. I have an immune system. And that guy at work who you absolutely hate also has an immune system.

Our immune systems are awesome because they shield you from most sicknesses and illnesses. They allow you to go on with your daily business because you’re protected.

But, what exactly have you done to reward your immune system?

Immunity can weaken, you know.

When you have an unhealthy lifestyle, you are damaging your own immunity.

Smoking, drinking, drugs, lack of sleep and too much physical activity can take down your shield and make you susceptible to all of the germs, bacteria and viruses around you.

Just like Wolverine when he went to visit an old friend in Tokyo, you too could lose your powers.

And we don’t want that to happen right?

So, protect your immune system.

But how, you ask?

Here’s how:

  1. Eat Right

Eating organic food, with no trace of chemicals, can do wonders for your health. It can give you all the vitamins and minerals your body needs, and strengthen your immune system too.

  1. Sleep Right

It is imperative that you get at least 6-8 hours of sleep a day. You’re not a machine, or a robot, or a crazy old man in a samurai suit who wants to live forever (yes, another jab at the Wolverine movie). Your immune system doesn’t sleep, but when you do it gets a chance to catch a breather. So, sleep soundly at night and let your immune system reboot while you’re at it.

  1. Exercise Right

You don’t have to go to the gym to exercise. Just skipping the elevator at work and taking the stairs will do wonders for your physical self. Still, make sure you don’t overwork yourself. When you overwork yourself, you overwork your immune system too.
